AppleInsider reports a company's retail arm, which added 8,000 workers during the last year, has taken a selection of steps to relief costs without laying off any employees.
According towards report, Apple is telling its part-time workers that they will receive fewer hours for near future, while full-time workers are asked to do more.
Apple's retail operation implements a fair capacity of part-time "Specialists" as greeters ready top door in the stores, directing customers around the appropriate sections of the shop and answering basic questions. I would increasingly of that role will be assigned into the fabled "Geniuses," that will should have from behind the service desk and walk supermarkets floor with greater frequency, in line with the report.
Nearly half of all Apple employees now work with their retail segment, which will be the number of its business most open to a volatile economy. Apple has 32,000 full-time employees, 15,900 who work in retail.
The organization has 3,100 part-time employees or contractors, nevertheless it's uncertain what percentage of people work with the retail segment. An appointment to Apple seeking discuss its plans as for the part-time employees had not been immediately returned.
